Police members of Operation Restore deployed in Lwandle on Sunday, 25 December 2022 worked tirelessly around the clock, perform intense tracing operations, following the cold-blooded murder of a police member in the early hours of the morning.
Commitment to follow up on every bit of intelligence received, the team tactically approached a residence in Lwandle and ensued with a search of the premises.
Their persistence was rewarded when they recovered a 9mm pistol with ammunition that was issued to the police officer.
Four men between the ages 21 and 37 were subsequently arrested on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Once charged the suspects are expected to make a court appearance in the Strand Magistrates’ Court on the mentioned charge.
