Flying Squad make various arrests, Bloemfontein

Flying Squad intensified their fight against crime and arrested six suspects for drug related crimes, possession of presumably stolen goods and ammunition.

On Sunday 15 January 2023 at about 00:50 members received information from private security about a bakkie with a possibly stolen motorbike.

The members rushed to Ferreira in Bloemfontein and found three men and a woman standing next to the vehicle. They were requested to provide papers confirming ownership of the motorbike but the suspects could not give a satisfactory answer and were temporarily detained.

Upon searching the suspects, members also found drugs such as Mandrax and Chrystal Meth. The team went to a townhouse adjacent to where the suspects were found and discovered a male with a syringe containing Heroin drugs. He was also arrested.

While busy with patrols, at about 02:30, members received information about a suspect who is on a commercial bus from Cookhouse en route to Bloemfontein. The bus was tracked, and on its arrival, members searched the passengers.

A 49-year-old white male was positively identified and arrested for house breaking and theft that happened in Cookhouse. While members were searching his luggage, they also found 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition in his possession. The suspect was arrested.

All six suspects, aged between 49 and 19, were arrested and will appear in the Bloemfontein magistrate court soon for dealing in drugs, illegal possession of ammunition, and possession of a suspected stolen motor cycle.
