The endeavours of the police to fight trio crimes yielded positive results as members foil a business robbery and arrest three suspects also found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
On Saturday, 25 March 2023 members from Crime Intelligence Unit in Johannesburg District, Johannesburg Metro Police and private security company followed up on information about suspects in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and planning to commit a business robbery at a well-known supermarket in Yeoville.
The vehicle used by the suspects was identified and stopped by the operational team.
Upon searching the vehicle, a rifle with live ammunition was found in the vehicle and three men were arrested.
All arrested suspects are expected to appear before court soon on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
