Murder of Vicky Terblanche (42), 1 accused sentenced, husband still to appear

The Gqeberha High Court convicted and sentenced 22-year-old Dylan Cullis on 29 March 2023 for murder, robbery and defeating the ends of justice.

Cullis will spend 18 years in jail for killing Vicky Terblanche (42).

On 21 October 2021, Vicky was reported missing at the Mount Road police station.

During the police’ preliminary investigation, her house was found unlocked and ransacked. The matter was handed to the Gqeberha based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation for further handling.

The Hawks’ investigation led to the arrest of the accused, few days later. Cullis took the investigators to Greenbushes where Vicky’s body was found in a shallow grave. Two other accused including Vicky’s former husband aged 30 and 56 were arrested.

Cullis pleaded guilty and was then convicted. He was sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment for murder, 12 years imprisonment for robbery and three years’ imprisonment for defeating the ends of justice.

Sentences will run concurrently.

Other accused are still on trial and they will return to court on 28 April 2023.
