Two male suspects in their twenties were arrested by the East London Flying Squad members in the early hours of 5 April 2023.
Approximately 02:00 on 5 April 2023 the members were patrolling around East London, Oxford and North Street when they noticed a broken window at the door of the East London main post office.
They stopped to investigate, upon their investigation they noticed the door entrance of the post office was opened, and when they entered they saw a computer screen and a box with a decoder on the ground and heard sounds of the people talking inside and sound like busy working in the dark.
The members proceeded inside and found two suspects with two computer screens, 2 heaters, cables/extensions, fingerprint pads, bush knife and pliers.
They then arrested both suspects and they will appear before East London Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 6 April 2023 facing charges of breaking into a business premises and possession of suspected stolen property.
