There is very little hope for a bright future or adequate healthcare for children under ANC rule where unemployment is rampant and healthcare services keep declining.
The most important aspects of human development include education, health and resources to develop. The ANC has failed miserably in providing all these.
It is the direct result of ANC policy, which is destroying the future of young people, particularly those from minority groups.
A recent example is government’s short-sightedness with the Covid-19 restrictions, which put even more strain on children’s education and training.
It is nearly impossible to determine the psychological damage children suffered due to the restrictions, and the lack of adequate access to state hospitals and healthcare during the lockdown period.
The controversial BELA Bill on basic education laws is another dark cloud looming over the education of the country’s children.
It aims to centralise education and will deny children, among other things, any choice regarding their language preferences.
Affirmative Action (AA) currently determines who may study medicine and who may not. White children’s dreams are shattered because of their skin colour, even though they performed exceptionally well at school.
Moreover, the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill aims to nationalise all healthcare services in the country.
Under ANC rule, the private healthcare system will decline to where the public healthcare system currently finds itself. In the end, quality healthcare will be out of the question.
According to recent media reports, 178 000 children between the ages of 0 and 5 years died over the past decade due to malnutrition, pneumonia, diarrhoea and other unnatural causes.
Government ought to create the best circumstances under which a child can develop and grow. The ANC is doing the opposite as it is busy destroying children’s lives and dreams for the future.
This results is a chaotic society void of values and mutual respect. A society where a population is forced to stagnate under a selfish government that furthers only its own interests.
It is time to get rid of this government to create a better future for the children of this country – a future of freedom, opportunities and prosperity.
There is an opportunity to do so at the polls next year. It is time to act in the best interests of our children.
