Limpopo ATM bombings: 11 Suspects appear in court

Eleven arrested suspects who were positively linked with cases of ATM bombings committed in various parts of Limpopo province have made their first court appearance before the Mecklenburg Magistrate’s Court on, Monday 22 May 2023, where the matter was postponed to 20 July for further police investigation.

The suspects are facing charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances, malicious damage to property, contravention of explosives Act and contravention of Illegal immigration Act.

This after they were positively linked with 10 cases relating to ATM bombings.

During the arrest in Gauteng province, police confiscated dye-stained bank notes, some explosives, 3 firearms and 18 live ammunition as well as two motor vehicles.

The eleventh suspect was arrested later during the operation.

The ten suspects have been identified as Lesotho Nationals and one South African.

They were identified as follows:

3. Hendrick Mabe (47)
4. Thabang Kgakagadi (25)
5. Sekgotho Phillip Tlali (30)
6. Dankie Lekgowa (25)
7. Lebereko Lehasa (30)
8. Thuso Motseki (28)
9. Thabo Mogutle (33)
10. Molatudi Ramotshela (25)
11. Tebogo kgahloe (35)

Police investigations are still continuing.
