Spate of Hazyview burglaries, suspect nabbed with stolen property

A suspect (29) that was found in possession of various items believed to have been stolen happens to be the one that Police in Hazyview were looking for in connection with various cases of house breaking and theft.

Thanks to members from Hazyview Detective Services for the job well done and the man was arrested on Thursday 25 May 2023.

The suspect’s arrest in Shabalala Trust near Hazyview came as a breakthrough and he was nabbed after information reached the ears of the Police regarding his whereabouts. The Police believe that he could be of great assistance in resolving some of the cases being investigated.

The men and women in Blue did not waste time but immediately followed the details which led to his capture. When he was apprehended, the suspect was reportedly found in possession of suspected stolen properties which included some electricity appliances such as TV sets, laptops and sound system.

The investigators are convinced that he could be involved in a number of house breaking and theft around the Hazyview area.

The suspect is expected to appear in the White River Magistrate’s Court on Friday 26 May 2023 facing a charge of possession of suspected stolen properties and more charges could possibly be added against the suspect as the investigation continues.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has welcomed the arrest and used the opportunity to encourage members of the public to blow a whistle whenever they become aware of anyone selling or being in possession of suspected stolen properties then the Police will swiftly act like in this incident.
