Mfuleni SAPS CIMAC Unit in collaboration with the Law enforcement LEAP officers, carried out a successful joint operation on Friday morning, 9 June 2023 around 11:00.
The operation was initiated following the gathering of Intelligence regarding the illegal sale of drugs and the storage of stolen property at an identified location.
The officers swiftly proceeded to the identified address located on Uxomoyi Street Extention 3, Mfuleni.
Upon arrival, they encountered and arrested two suspects, a man aged 29 and a 33-year-old woman. A thorough search of the premises was subsequently conducted.
During the search, the officers discovered a significant quantity of illicit substances, specifically Mandrax and tik, along with presumable stolen property. The seized items included 38 Mandrax tablets, two half Mandrax tablets, and one quarter Mandrax tablet.
Additionally, 13 sachets of tik and one bag containing raw tik were found. Furthermore, the officers recovered various electronic devices, namely one grey and black laptop, one black monitor, one black Canon laptop, 1 grey Xbox, 1 grey iPhone, 1 black laptop charger, and one black HP laptop.
Considering the severity of the find, the suspects were charged with dealing in drugs and possession of presumable stolen property. They were immediately transported to the Mfuleni SAPS for detention pending further investigation and legal proceedings.
The successful outcome of this collaborative between different law enforcement agencies demonstrates their effective coordination and sound cooperation to safeguard communities.
The confiscation of illegal substances and the recovery of stolen property will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing public safety and curbing criminal activities within our community.
