The Police in Giyani have launched a manhunt for unknown number of suspects responsible for the murder of a 48-year-old man who’s vehicle was also torched in Phagane Village, on Thursday 13 July 2023.
The police were busy with routine patrols, when they received a complaint about a certain motor vehicle that was on fire and quickly went to the scene.
Upon arrival, the police found a Volkswagen Polo with Mpumalanga registration number plate on fire.
They also discovered the body of a man few metres from the motor vehicle. There was also a wallet with bank cards and smart identity cards next to the wallet and cellphone.
Emergency Services personnel and fire brigade were summoned to the scene and managed to extinguish fire.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Upon inspecting the body it was discovered that the body was tied with a rope.
A case of murder was opened.
The motive for the incident is unknown and the deceased’s identity will be released at the appropriate time.
