Stock Theft accused persons remanded in custody

POTCHEFSTROOM – Moses Matsheho (37) and Lucas Serole (46) were remanded in custody upon appearance before the Mogwase Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 24 August 2024, for possession of suspected stolen livestock (cattle) worth R60 000.00. They are expected to appear before the same court on Monday, 29 August 2023, for a formal bail application

The suspects’ court appearance emanated from their arrest by Mabeskraal Visible Policing during a crime intelligence led operation on Wednesday, 23 August 2023. That was after operationalisation of information about men who were seen loading five suspected stolen cattle into a trailer at a cattle post in Seolong. Preliminary investigation revealed that the initial brand marks on the cattle had been tampered with. The police seized the cattle, the vehicle and the trailer for further investigation by Madikwe Stock theft and Endangered Species (STES) Unit.
