Operation Restore ensures that illegal drugs are taken from the streets

Members attached to Operation Restore deployed in Philippi East area for high density and crime prevention duties arrested a 37-year-old suspect on charges of possession of tik on Thursday 14 September 2023.

The members received information of a premises in Vietnam Street, Marcus Garvey, where illegal activities are being conducted. The members operationalised the information and headed to the identified address in Philippi East where they found and confiscated a medium size plastic bag containing 10 grams of tik.

In addition, members of Operation Restore deployed in Kraaifontein arrested a 37-year-old suspect for possession of drugs on Thursday 14 September 2023. The members received information of drugs being kept at a premises in Scottsville. They operationalised the information and headed to the identified address in Scottsville where they found and confiscated 15 full mandrax tablets and 48 half mandrax tablets.

Later the same day at another identified location in Rembrandt Street a 26-year-old male was found in possession of 13 tik sachets and was arrested on charges of possession of tik.

The suspects will be charged to appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistratesā€™ court soon.
