The Police in Maleboho are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder following the shooting incident which occurred on Saturday 21 October 2023 at around 19:00, at Devrede village in Capricorn District.
According to the information received, two unknown armed male suspects stormed into a house where family members were seated and enjoying braai with their friends.
Suddenly the said suspects allegedly fired some shots randomly and in the process a 43-year-old male was fatally shot while two family friends aged 42 and 48 respectively were shot and injured and were then transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
According to reports the Police were alerted of a shooting incident at Devrede village in Ga-Maleboho and upon arrival at the crime scene they discovered a dead body of a family member. The other two victims were rushed to a local hospital.
The motive behind the incident is unknown however Police investigation will reveal.
The Police have immediately activated a manhunt for the two armed male suspects responsible for the murder and attempted murder cases.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe strongly condemned the incidents and called the community to urgently provide Police with the information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects.
