The Police in Musina have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in a business robbery incident that occurred at a local guest house at Musina town, on Monday, 20 November 2023 at around 21:15.
The victim, who is a security guard, alleged that he was on duty at the guest house, when three suspects driving in a white Toyota Corolla approached him and pretended as customers looking for accommodation. The suspects suddenly produced firearms and robbed him of a cell phone and one of them kept him under watch, while the other two proceeded to the rooms.
In the process, one security guard pressed a panic button, other security officers responded and there was a shootout between the suspects and the security officers. One of the suspects jumped from the double storey and he was critically injured and the other two fled from the scene using their vehicle.
The police received an alert about the shooting incident, they arrived with emergency services. It was also found that one of the lodgers, aged 39, was shot-injured at his lower body. The victim and the suspect were taken to the local hospital. The suspect aged 34 was then arrested under Police guard. Police opened a case of business robbery for further investigation.
