The Members of Provincial Stock Theft Unit in Limpopo arrested a 46-year-old suspect and recovered seven suspected stolen cattle sold at an auction on 23 November 2023 in Alldays under Capricorn District.
It is reported that the police received information about the suspected stolen cattle transported to an auction in Alldays. Upon arrival, the suspect had registered the cattle and were already being sold.
The suspect was apprehended on the spot and charged with possession of suspected stolen livestock. He made his first court appearance in the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 24 November 2023 and his case was posted to 19 December 2023 for formal bail application and further police investigations.
The above mentioned seven cattle are not yet identified by the lawful owner. The cattle were taken to the pounding master at Makhado.
More arrests are expected as police investigations continue.
