Earlier this morning, Mi7 National Group’s Control Room received a call from an Armed Response client in Hilton. The client reported that a vehicle was stolen from their property the previous day.
According to the client, a gardener on the property heard the car alarm go off, and when he went to inspect, was confronted by several suspects who were attempting to steal the vehicle. It is alleged the suspects assaulted the gardener, forced him into the stolen vehicle, and sped off.
The same gardener managed to contact the client earlier today with an approximate location of where he was taken.
This information led Mi7 Strategic Threat Response Unit teams to the N3 near Willowton, where an extensive search of the area ensued. Eventually, the gardener was spotted alongside the abandoned vehicle.
According to him, the engine had seized, causing the suspects to abandon the vehicle and flee.
The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
