Between Thursday and Saturday, 4 – 6 January 2024, #EMPD arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly pointing a firearm at other motorists.
Officers confiscated the 9mm replica pistol and arrested the man after concerned motorists reported him to the EMPD members patrolling the area. The arrest occurred at the intersection of Putfontein and Van Ryn roads. The South African Police Service in Crystal Park calls on those who fell victim to this crime to come forward as investigations are underway. The suspect will appear in court soon.
Meanwhile, in Tsakani the EMPD officers received information about a stolen white Ford Bantam Bakkie, taken in Springs. Officers responded and the bakkie, matching the same description, was found deserted at a car wash in Langaville, Tsakani.
