    James Travis Reeves (August 20, 1923 – July 31, 1964) was an American country and popular music singer-songwriter.

    Personal life. Jim Reeves married Mary White on September 3, 1947. They never had any children, as Jim Reeves was believed to be sterile, due to complications from a mumps infection.
    Mary died in a custodial care facility in Nashville on Veteran’s Day in 1999, and Jim’s human remains, personal effects and legacy have been sold by her second husband, Terry Davis, to a carnival operator.

    He alos made recordings in Afrikaans when he was touring South Africa in the early sixties.

  2. My father just loved listening to Jim Reeves and playing his songs on the guitar. Hence my love for his music. Tragically he died when he was only 39 in 1964, a year before I was born.
