#CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats)

Repetitive DNA sequences, called CRISPR, were observed in bacteria with “spacer” DNA sequences in between the repeats that exactly match viral sequences.

      #Cas9

CRISPR-Cas9 was adapted from a naturally occurring genome editing system that bacteria use as an immune defense. When infected with viruses, bacteria capture small pieces of the viruses’ DNA and insert them into their own DNA in a particular pattern to create segments known as CRISPR arrays. The CRISPR arrays allow the bacteria to “remember” the viruses (or closely related ones). If the viruses attack again, the bacteria produce RNA segments from the CRISPR arrays that recognize and attach to specific regions of the viruses’ DNA. The bacteria then use Cas9 or a similar enzyme to cut the DNA apart, which disables the virus.

Potential Therapeutic Applications of CRISPR/Cas9 in Treating Alzheimer’s Disease
The CRISPR/Cas9 technique has shown promise in certain neurological disorders, most notably Huntington disease (HD). HD is caused by the expansion of CAG repeats in exon 1 of the HTT gene, which encodes for mutant huntingtin (mHTT), a large protein consisting of large polyglutamine repeats in the N-terminal domain of mHTT that most likely exhibits a toxic-gain of function.

      #Last Thoughts

I believe that this is a breakthrough and innovation in the furthering of bio technology.
However one would then question the efficacy and trial process into the introduction of these technologies into the social market.

Furthermore it’s my belief that CERN in Geneva Switzerland has been further involved in human genome experimentation for some years now. One should also assume that many of the covid19 drug trials in the trial registers came up short in productive discoveries, hence the trials were carried out in a hastened manner and because of that many unwanted side effects and death occurred within the public.

We can only hope that Cas9 will not follow suit, since we’re walking in undescovered territories not knowing the full extent to which we can subject our bodies to.
