OUDTSHOORN NEWS – Patrick Brocklebank, a resident of Oudtshoorn, was murdered in St Saviour Street area last night, 22 December.
Preliminary information indicates that a member of SANDF-Oudtshoorn was reportedly arrested by the military police in connection with the incident. An inquiry has been sent to the police to confirm this.
Brockleband leaves behind three children.
His bosom friend, Terry Langenhoven, described Brockleband as a gentle person who loved to help any person, even at the expense of himself.
“Sure, he’s been through a lot of personal stuff the last few years and was even confused with drugs, but we had big plans to become business partners again like we had in the past. When we talked it was always just positive and what else we were going to achieve together. I lost a friend and brother,” Langenhoven said.
Langenhoven, who currently works in West Africa, says he plans to attend Brockleband’s funeral which could not yet be confirmed.
Oudtshoorn Community Against Crime, led by Leon Campher, indicated that the organisation would visit the family on Wednesday 27 December.
