Introductory message from Rev Dan Berriman
In about midyear of 2020 after the covid 19 Pandemic had firmly established itself. I had a chat with Scott of the Loving Life channel and it was decided that we would present a video church service for each Sunday morning.
Although I am a preacher by vocation, an ordained minister in the Methodist Church of South Africa before my retirement, and familiar with sermons and sermon construction, never before have I felt so guided by God as I did when I prepared these sermons for Loving Life.
As the new week began, I would ask myself, now what do I preach on for next Sunday. Each time when Wednesday came around I had the answer. Sometimes in the most amazing way. Several times I woke up in the middle of the night, and the message would be there in my heart. At these times I would get up and start typing, and the words would just flow.
During my calling as a minister, this never happened. I used to follow the Liturgy, and spend hours, sometimes up to 15 hours preparing a sermon. So this was a different experience for me.
Many of these sermons spoke to my heart, and at times I said things that were new to me. I can assure you that I turned to Scripture often to check myself.
Apart from one of the sermons “the three crosses at Calvary” all of them saw the light for the first time during the Covid period. I offer them to you now, with the prayer that they may be a blessing to you.
I will try to post two pdf sermons a week consisting of 1 past sermon in order to catch up, and also the sermon preached on the Sunday of that week.
These sermon pdf’s are not released free but as an opportunity for you to exercise your privilege to tithe towards God’s work. Whatever your tithe is, whether it is 1 cent or 1 dollar or more,it must go directly to Loving Life where it will be distributed by Scott as follows:
50% of your tithe will go to a Charity that Loving Life supports e.g. Go purple foundation, Boere droogtehulp of SA, The cradle of hope, Filidelfia ark or Solidarity (at Scott’s discretion.)
25% will go to Loving Life
25% to the writer of the sermons (myself)
I have indicated that these pdf sermons should not be free, however I know that many folk have lost income because of covid and if this is your situation, please go ahead anyway and download them with Loving Life’s, Scott and my full blessings.
I hope and trust that you may join us in this opportunity of supporting the work of God in this way.
Rev. Dan Harvey Berriman.
