Today will be marked as a dark day in History. Merely fifty years following the worst intelligence failure in Israel’s history, namely the 1973 Yom Kippur war; 50 years of lessons on preparedness, the threat of preconceptions, and the necessity to remain vigilant at all given moment have apparently not been enough. This morning, at 07:07 AM, the internationally designated terror organization Hamas launched a first rocket, with thousands that followed throughout the day. A few minutes later, hundreds of Palestinian terror operatives launched a carefully devised full-scale ground attack, with three key goals: murder as many as possible Israeli civilians and troops as possible, kidnap if possible, and destroy whatever was in their path. This is a developing story as we speak.
