    The Department of Energy has confirmed the official petrol and diesel price changes for January 2023 – and it’s SUPER news!

     

    The price of petrol will drop by a whopping R2.06 per litre for both 93 and 95 octanes, while the 0.05% diesel price will decrease by R2.69 per litre and the 0.005% diesel price by R2.81.

     

    The changes will come into effect at midnight on Tuesday, 3 January.

    Petrol is now the cheapest it’s been since February 2022 when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine triggered a spike in oil prices.

     

    PETROL AND DIESEL PRICE CHANGES AS BELOW:

    Petrol 93 decrease of 206 cents per litre
    Petrol 95 decrease of 206 cents per litre
    Diesel 0.05% decrease of 269 cents per litre
    Diesel 0.005% decrease of 281 cents per litre
    Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale) decrease of 193 cents per litre
    LPGAS increase of 82 cents per kilogram
