Vehicle driver shot dead, passenger injured
LIMPOPO. – Andile Brian Khubeka (33) was shot dead in a vehicle at the R25 Phooko neighborhood on Friday evening around 22:20.
According to Malesela Ledwaba, Dennilton police members went to a shooting incident where a white Suzuki was parked with the doors open. The deceased was still inside the vehicle with several gunshot wounds. An occupant was injured in his lower body and another was unhurt. The injured were taken to a hospital.
Ledwaba says two armed suspects approached the three men sitting in the vehicle and shot at them randomly.
The police are investigating one case of murder and two of attempted murder. Although the motive for the shooting is currently unknown, Ledwaba says taxi-related violence cannot be ruled out.
