WHITE HOUSE: ORANIA CALLS FOR
RECOGNITION ON HOME SOILPresident Trump’s executive order shook South Africa and the world, provoking more reaction than anyone could have predicted.
The most important question for Afrikaners who choose to stay here on home soil is “what now?”
The Orania Movement’s position is very simple:

Any President or state that wants to help the Afrikaners capitalize on this historic opportunity must help us with our most important issue: Recognition!
President Trump has already opened up huge space for Africans by recognising us as an ethnic group/people in our own right. Now we have to follow up with the following logical request: Recognition for an area for Afrikaners.
We cannot afford to lose momentum with this historic opportunity. Signing our letter to the White House helps us get the Orania message out to the Trump administration.

Add your name to the letter! Why Area Recognition for Afrikaners?
1. Afrikaners do not want to be refugees. We love, and commit to, our own soil. We are as connected to Africa as the other peoples living in Africa.
2. A separate area for Afrikaners was already recognised by parliament in the 1990s and was called a ‘legitimate aspiration’. The government even signed the accord for Afrikaner self-determination.
3. Orania believes in the solution of political freedom for all peoples. That is why we also believe that as a unique people, we have that right. The Orania solution prioritizes recognition and own decision-making and thus grants the same opportunities for others.
4. We are deeply grateful for foreign support, and we ask that it be more specific to strengthen recognition. For Afrikaners to survive in Africa in the long term, we know that mutual recognition is an important basis.
5. Orania, and Afrikaners, are stabilizing rather than destabilizing. Self-determination and taking on responsibilities and accountability by wanting to make our own decisions is a net positive for any region, state, or country. Foreign Presidents, politicians, and prominent figures’ support can have a reinforcing effect in this case by providing greater recognition.
