KeymasterBlack First Land First (BLF) leader Andile Mngxitama has made a come back in the National Assembly as he emerged as one of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party members that were swore in as Members of Parliament.
Mngxitama who is a former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member has long been a supporter of Jacob Zuma and has vowed to stand by him even during his standoff with the State Capture Commission.
ANDILE MNGXITAMA SWORN IN AS MK PARTY MP
In January this year, BLF signed a “historic agreement” to join forces with the Jacob Zuma led MK Party for the 29 May National and Provincial Elections.
Here are some highlights of Mngxitama’s political career:
-
From 2014 – 2015, Mngxitama represented Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the National Assembly. He also served as a Member at Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform. He was banned from the party in 2015.
-
After his expulsion, he founded the Black First Land First (BLF). The party is reportedly a revolutionary socialist political party based on pan-Africanism.
-
Just like Julius Malema, Andile Mngxitama is inarguably one of the most controversial politicians in the country. His statements have raised eyebrows and intimidated a number of people and organisations. In addition, Mngxitama has faced numerous cases of hate speech, and not repented.
