Ramaphosa addresses the UK Parliament pushing for funding for his family’s alternative energy businesses

If you “read between the lines” in this speech by South African President Ramaphosa he is supporting climate change but saying that to “make it happen” in South Africa he and his brother-in-law, Patrice Motsepe, will have to be the big financial beneficiaries. So why does he suggest at the start that he speaks for “all South Africans” – most of whom are living in abject poverty?
