Another elderly couple was brutally killed in a farm attack in Picketberg in the Western Cape over the weekend.
THIS IS THE SECOND ELDERLY COUPLE WHO WERE BRUTALLY KILLED IN FARM ATTACKS THIS WEEKEND
According to a report by Landbou.com, a farm worker came across the bodies of Pierre and Belinda de Kock on their farm on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the bodies of Pierre Belinda de Kock, both in their fifties, were found on their farm on Sunday, 4 June, around 18:00. They were last seen alive on Friday, 2 June, at around 19:00.
A FARM WORKER FOUND THE BODIES OF THE COUPLE
The couple’s dogs, who were running in and out of the farmhouse, caught the attention of the farm worker.
After investigating further, she found Belinda’s body in the bedroom. She wore the same clothes as when she was last seen on Friday. Pierre’s body was found in the garage with a stab wound to his neck.
Van Wyk said nothing was missing from the house. No arrests have been made yet.

NOTHING WAS MISSING FROM THE HOUSE
AfriForum’s spokesperson for Community Safety, Jacques Broodryk, appealed to farmers and rural residents to step up their security and preparedness.
According to AfriForum, there have been at least seven farm murders nationwide in the past week.
“This past weekend alone, four people were killed in two separate incidents. In both incidents, the elderly were targeted.
“Hennie and Anneke Claassen were brutally tortured and murdered on a farm outside Ohrigstad, while Pierre and Belinda de Kock were murdered on their farm outside Piketberg.”

FOUR ELDERLY PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN TWO SEPARATE ATTACKS
The organization expressed its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victims.
“AfriForum urges farmers and rural residents to urgently get involved with their local neighbourhood or farm watches. The only way to curb these horrific attacks is for communities to mobilize and step up their preparedness.
“The brutal way in which these crimes are carried out is a clear indication that this is not just ordinary crime. AfriForum will continue to put pressure on the government and demand that farm attacks be declared a priority crime and receive the necessary attention from the authorities,”

This is the second double brutal farm murder in South Africa over the weekend.

ANNEKE AND HENNIE CLAASEN WERE BRUTALLY MURDERED ON KLIPFONTEIN
According to reports, Anneke Claassen (73) and Hennie Claassen (77) were brutally attacked on Klipfontein farm near the Echo Caves outside Ohrigstad, in Limpopo, over the weekend.

Anneke’s son, Jan-Daniël Claasen, told Netwerk24 it seemed like two or three armed men overpowered her and dragged her to a passage where they set her alight while she was still alive.
THEY WERE BOTH SET ALIGHT WHILE THEY WERE ALIVE
He said his mom was burned beyond recognition.
Hennie was locked in a room in a separate farmhouse before the attacker set the place alight with him inside.
The motive for the brutal murders is still unknown. No arrests have been made yet.

THE MOTIVE FOR THE MURDERS ARE STILL UNKNOWN, NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE
“The police are condemning this brutal yet senseless attack and the subsequent killing. We call upon anyone with information to contact the police,” said Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Limpopo SAPS commissioner.
