The District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph has welcomed the sentence and conviction of Zikhona Zenzile (34) for robbery.
The robbery took place at Cawood Street, Cradock where a 23-year-old woman was robbed of her money and threatened with a knife on 7 June 2022.
At the time of the incident the suspect was unknown but through thorough investigation by Sergeant Leinita Eyssen he was arrested on 7 June 2022.
He first appeared on 9 June 2022 at Cradock Magistrate Court for charges of robbery and was remanded in custody. He then appeared several times at Court and the case was transferred to Cradock Regional Court on 30 November 2022 when he was found guilty.
Zikhona Zenzile was sentenced and convicted on 1 December 2022 to 15 year’s imprisonment for robbery.
The District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph commended Sergeant Eyssen for her dedication and commitment in securing a conviction.
