Cloetesville police apprehended three suspects aged 14, 23 and 26 on Wednesday 7 December 2022.
At approximately 21:00, as members were doing their routine patrols in the area, they stopped and searched a vehicle in Tennent Street, Cloetesville.
Inside the vehicle there were three male occupants, in whose possession they found a .38 special revolver, a dangerous weapon and tik.
The suspects were arrested and charged for illegal possession of a firearm, possession of dangerous weapons and possession of drugs.
In an unrelated incident, police members of the Provincial Extortion Task Team responded to information and pounced on a residence in Wattle Street, Sarepta in Kuilsriver on Thursday 8 December 2022.
During the intense search they confiscated a magnum revolver with ammunition, dagga and cash. A 43-year-old male was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and dealing in dagga.
All suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Stellenbosch and Blued Downs Magistrate courts on the mentioned charges.
