A second farm attack took place on 14 January 2023, on a farm in Bishopstowe, Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa.
This follows an attack in the same area on 12 January 2023, where a farmer was also shot and hospitalised.
According to reports from the scene, the homeowners wife had opened the front door of their property to investigate barking of one of her dogs, where she was overpowered and robbed of her cell phone.
The homeowner rushed to her aid, and was immediately shot.
When emergency services arrived they found that one patient had sustained critical injuries from a gunshot wound.
The patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
This attack follows a similar attack two days earlier, and a fatal shooting the week before in a neighboring suburb.
On 12 January 2023, at 03:00 on a farm in the Bishopstowe sensors picked up intruders on the farm and the farmer, Tom Walker, went out to investigate.
After he got close to where the fence had been cut by the attackers he was shot at multiple times.
