Welkom Public Order Policing members arrested a man, aged 34, for alleged murder and a Security Guard, aged 43, for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Tuesday, 21 February 2023 at about 02:45 in Albany section in Meloding.
Members operationalized information about a murder that occurred on Saturday, 18 February 2023.
The members proceeded to the identified house in Albany section were a male suspect was arrested for murder.
Information also lead members to another house where a security guard was questioned during which it was established that the firearm used in the commission of crime was at his work place in the guard room.
Members then rushed to Virginia Magistrate Court at the guard room where they found a pistol and 34 rounds of ammunition inside a locker.
The suspect was arrested for Possession of Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunitions.
Both suspects will soon appear in Virginia Magistrate’s Court.
