The alertness and vigilance of members of the Provincial Human Resource Management Recruitment section led to the investigation, apprehension and arrest of five persons who allegedly submitted fraudulent grade 12 certificates when applying for Constable posts advertised during 2022/2023.
The alertness of the Recruitment personnel led them to question the authenticity of the documents and approached the Department of Education and UMALUSI to validate the certificates presented to them.
The case was referred to the Provincial Anti-Corruption unit which led to the apprehension and arrest of 5 persons including 2 females and 3 males.
The suspects appeared in the Kimberley Magistrates Court on 7 March 2023.
The SAPS in the Northern Cape has issued a stern warning to the public, that the police will not tolerate such dishonest actions when it comes to applying for employment in the organization.
They must be assured that all documents submitted will be scrutinized and the police will not hesitate to enforce the law.
