Four suspects who are between the ages of 20 and 39 are expected to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 April 2023, in connection with armed robbery, house breaking and possession of suspected stolen property.
The suspects’ court appearance emanated from their arrests on Wednesday, 5 April 2023, after Brits Crime Intelligence, Klipgat Visible Policing and Detectives, received and operationalised information about a wanted suspect.
The latter was found at his residential place.
Subsequent to questioning, he led the police to three other suspects who were arrested after being found in possession of suspected stolen goods with an estimated value of R40 100.00.
The items included two plasma televisions, refrigerator, speaker, bicycle, and a replica gun (pistol).
A manhunt is still underway for two more suspects who are linked to this group that terrorised the community of Klipgat.
The Provincial Police Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, congratulated Klipgat and Brits Detectives and Crime Intelligence members for working tirelessly in making sure that criminals such as these ones are put behind bars. Moreover, he applauded members of the community for assisting the police in ascertaining that the suspects were exposed and brought to book.
