Setback for service delivery in Mogale City due to ANC and EFF’s alliance

The ANC and EFF’s successful motion of no confidence in the Executive Mayor of the Mogale City Local Municipality, Tyrone Gray, by implication marks the end of the multiparty minority coalition government that has governed the Municipality since the 2021 local government elections.

The Mogale City Local Municipality serves Krugersdorp, Magaliesburg and Muldersdrift.

During the past 14 months, the coalition consisting of the DA, FF Plus, IFP and ACDP was able to turn the dire financial and service delivery situation in which the Municipality had found itself around.

The motion supported by the ANC and EFF effectively places the Municipality back into the hands of the ANC group, which is responsible for the decline in service delivery and looting of the Municipality’s finances in the first place.

The road to recovery for an affective government in Mogale City starts today – it is going to require an active and mobilised community that is willing to cooperate to overthrow the ANC in Gauteng in 2024.

The FF Plus acts as a stabilising anchor in all this; it is able to not only govern the province, but also hold every municipality in Gauteng accountable.
