Police in the Nelson Mandela Bay District are clamping down in criminals by squeezing their space and ensuring that their criminal activities are halted.
On Thursday, 20 April 2023, at approximately 12:30, SAPS Public Order Police were patrolling in Summerstrand when they spotted a suspect running after allegedly robbing two females.
A foot and vehicle chase ensued.
The suspect jumped into a silver grey Mercedes Benz that was waiting for him at 4th Avenue in Marine Drive. The vehicle was intercepted and the six occupants, aged between 23 and 29 were apprehended and the stolen property recovered.
A replica firearm was also confiscated.
The suspects are detained on charges of robbery. The Mercedes Benz was also impounded for further investigation.
They are expected to appear in the Gqeberha magistrate court on Monday, 24 April 2023.
