Indwe triple murder case, police make a breakthrough

On Wednesday, 26 April 2023, the tracking team and members from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Investigations Unit made another breakthrough, as they managed to track and traced the two men, who are believed to be involved in the murder of three men at Indwe on Wednesday 19 April 2023.

The two men were arrested from a local farm at Indwe.

Police also recovered two unlicensed firearms with several rounds of live ammunition and undisclosed amount of cash.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that recovered amount of money was extorted from local businesses.

A thorough investigation will determine the course of action.

The two suspects aged 20 and 32 are due to appear in court on Friday, 28 April 2023 on charges of murder (three counts) with additional charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The names of the deceased persons were identified as:

Themba Luzuko Mbuke (23)
Loyiso Simanya (25)
Asenethemba Vanikise (20).
