The Kuruman District Court recently handed down a 12 year prison sentence to 49-year-old Keamogetse Johannes Dithae for fatally stabbing a 37- year-old male on Saturday, 24 December 2022, in Sedibeng village, Tsineng.
The Court heard that the 37-year-old male was attacked by the accused after learning that he is romantically involved in a relationship with his ex-girlfriend.
On the said day the accused approached the victim and the ex-girlfriend who were walking down a street in Sedibeng village and violently attacked the victim.
He stabbed him to death whilst the ex-girlfriend ran away fearing for her life.
The meticulous investigations led to the accused pleading guilty in court and was henceforth found guilty as charged.
The District Commissioner for the John Taole Gaetsewe district Major General Johnny Besnaar applauded the Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Mojaki Obed Mogaswe for ensuring that perpetrators of violent crimes are removed from society by the Courts.
