A farm attack took place on Tuesday 16 May 2023, at 21:30 on a farm in the Hemel en Aarde valley area between Hermanus and Caledon in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
Four balaclava clad attackers, one of whom was armed, entered the home and threatened a woman (53).
This after shooting and injuring her dog.
The woman was then tied up. The attackers ransacked the home and fled the scene in the woman’s a Toyota double cab bakkie.
A number of items, including jewelery was robbed.
The bakkie was later found abandoned not far from the crime scene.
The woman managed to free herself and activated the panic alarm for help.
Hermanus police are investigating the attack and robbery but there have been no arrests.
