A Maclear farmer, Francis Davidson (75) who was attacked and tortured by an unknown number of attackers in his farmhouse on 26 April 2023, has died.
Mr. Davidson was assaulted, tortured, beaten with a blunt object, burned with paraffin, dragged around the garden, tied up and stabbed with knife on the afternoon of 26 April 2023.
Mr. Davidson, who never recovered from the ordeal, sadly died on the morning of 13 June 2023 from extensive injuries he suffered during the farm attack.
He was held captive and brutalised by the attackers for thirteen hours.
The torture continued from the afternoon, through the night, until the next morning, 27 April 2023.
During the assault the attackers made themselves dinner and then continued with their vile deeds.
The house was ransacked and his bakkie stolen. The bakkie was later found in the Katkop area burnt out.
Mr. Davidson was found on 27 April 2023, still tied up laying injured on the floor by a neighbour who went to investigate after family members could not reach him.
