The detectives from Warden Police arrested a second suspect from Ezenzeleni near Warden for the alleged robbery at a filling station.
It’s alleged that on 26 June 2023 between 01:00 and 01:15, the security guard received a panic button alert from a local filling station and activated police towards the scene.
Upon their arrival, the petrol attendant said that he was robbed of cash and a cellphone by two suspects wearing balaclavas and of which one was in possession of firearm.
The suspects reportedly fled from the scene on foot.
Information about the suspects whereabouts was operationalized which led police to Ezenzeleni Township.
One suspect was found at his residential place. The police found cash and a cellphone belonging to the employee of filling station.
Later, the same day, the police traced and arrested the second suspect.
Both suspects are expected to appear before the Warden Magistrate’s Court on 27 June 2023, facing a business robbery charge.
