The Durban High Court has sentenced three suspects after they were convicted on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder as well as unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
On 24 April 2020, Christopher Wonderboy Duma (57) was at work when a victim of an attempted carjacking drove into his workplace.
Three suspects shot at the vehicle that was on the business premises in Dinkleman road and Duma was hit by a bullet.
He was declared dead on the scene.
Pinetown police worked swiftly and tirelessly to apprehend the suspects.
Mphiliseni David Zulu (29) was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, 10 years’ for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder and 15 years’ for unlawful possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Sithembiso Xolani Ntuli (30) was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and a further 10 years’ for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
While Sibusiso Mathew Nxumalo (42) was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, 10 years’ imprisonment for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder and 3 years’ for unlawful possession of ammunition.
