Members of Knock-Out Team received information about a planned house robbery in Harmony, Virginia on 5 July 2023 at about 19:00.
Members operationalised the information and engaged mine security to conduct a way-lay at a house targeted by the suspects in Gawie Theron Street Harmony Virginia.
Two vehicles were seen passing the house and as the suspects realized the presence of the SAPS the suspect fired shots in the direction of the SAPS members.
SAPS members returned fire resulting in one of the suspects being shot and injured.
He was chased by the SAPS members and mine security.
A drone was utilized to trace the fleeing suspects that resulted in the arrest of a 40-year-old suspect from North West Province.
A 9mm firearm with its serial number filed off was seized.
The suspect is facing charges of attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
His accomplices are still at large and are being sought by police.
