Five accuse sentenced to a collective 105 years imprisonment for rapes in Free State

FREE STATE – The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) members ensured that sexual offenders remained behind bars.

The 31-year-old taxi driver, Thabo Donald Molapisi, was linked to three rape cases and a kidnapping incident that happened back in 2017. The suspect was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and five years’ imprisonment for kidnapping by the Virginia Magistrate Court.

The 36-year-old, who was soon to be stepfather to the 15-year-old victim, turned to her while her mother was not at home back in 2015 in Makwane Phuthaditjhaba. He was arrested and sentenced to a 15-year direct sentence.

Mosia Thabiso (23) attacked his 15-year-old victim after she took her friend halfway and was on her way back home. The suspect pulled her into the long grass next to the road in Makwane, Phuthaditjhaba and raped her back in 2022. The suspect was traced and arrested and he was sentenced to 18 years of direct imprisonment.

A 52-year-old man raped his then-9-year-old biological sister several times while their parents were away. She finally broke the silence and informed her parents and the suspect was arrested in Phuthaditjhaba. He was sentenced to 18 years of direct imprisonment.

Sabata Pulenyane (25) was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after he forced his 27-year-old neighbour into her parents’ home in Phuthaditjhaba and raped her.

David Tshabalala (35) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment after he attacked a woman, raped her in the bushes and continued to rape her again when they arrived at her parent’s home.
