HARRISMITH – Community involvement led to the arrest of three suspects linked to the house breaking incident at a farm in Harrismith and recovery of stolen loot.
On Tuesday 08 August 2023, members received information about people who broke into a farm and stole belongings including a firearm. Information led to the arrest of one suspect aged 22-years-old linked with the house breaking.
Intelligence gathering led the team to Khalanyoni area where an employee (22) at a tavern was arrested after a stolen generator was found at the tavern. At about 01:15 on Wednesday 09 August 2023, further investigation led the team to Elands River farm where 24-year-old female was arrested after a stolen firearm was found hidden in her bedroom.
The three were arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods and possession of unlicensed firearm and will appear in the Harrismith magistrate court soon.
