FICKSBURG – Two suspects aged 31 and 43 were arrested and charged for possession of an unlicensed firearm and contravening the Immigration Act are expected to appear before the Ficksburg Magistrate Court today.
On 09 August 2023 at approximately 13:00 the police were patrolling in Ficksburg when they were informed of a suspected vehicle, a blue Honda with Lesotho registration numbers with two occupants in possession of a firearm. The police spotted the vehicle and it was stopped. A search of the vehicle and suspects ensued and the police found a 9mm pistol without a serial number and with no ammunition. Both suspects were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and contravening the Immigration Act.
