Suspect is heading to court following his arrest for dealing in dagga

WESTERN CAPE – On Saturday, 19 August 2023 at about 21:30, members of Operation Restore conducted an intelligence driven operation in Belhar which led them to an address in Platteklip Crescent, Belhar where a person is involved in alleged in criminal activities.

Upon arrival at the premises, a 28-year-old male, fitting the description provided, granted permission for a search. A search ensued and members discovered and confiscated dagga cigarettes, 96 units dagga sweets, two scales and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime. The suspect could not provide a reasonable account for being in possession of the mentioned exhibits and was arrested and detained at Belhar SAPS. All exhibits were handed in as evidence for further investigation.

Once charged the suspect will make his appearance in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court.

In an unrelated matter on Saturday, 19 August 2023 members of Robertson SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, after obtaining search warrants, executed an intelligence driven operation which led to the arrest of two suspects, aged 27 and 30, for possession of 246 tik straws.

On the same day, in an unrelated matter, Robertson SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 50-year-old male for the possession of 10 mandrax tablets.

Once charged the three suspects will appear in court on their respective charges of possession of mandrax and tik.
