POLOKWANE – A total of four suspects aged between 21 and 40, believed to be part of a drug syndicate operating in areas such as Moletlane and Zebediela in Capricorn District, have appeared before the Magatle Magistrate’s Court on Monday 21 August 2023, on charges of possession and dealing in drugs. They were all remanded in custody until Monday 28 August for formal bail application.
The suspects were nabbed on 18 August 2023, during a disruptive operation executed by the members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit.
This is after intelligence was gathered about an alleged drug syndicate selling various drugs around the villages.
The team pounced on two male and two female suspects at their homestead in Moletlane Policing area and they were found in possession of various drugs such as crystal meth, nyaope, dagga and cat with the estimated street value of R24000-00.
The suspects were identified as follows:
* Tebogo Liason Kekana (40)
* Minky Kekana (34)
* Paulina Charmaine Ramoraswi (21)
* George Kekana (32)
The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the members for the meticulous investigation. The fight against drug dealing is an ongoing battle that requires the involvement of the community as well and our efforts to reduce crime related-crimes are yielding success, “concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.
