Three suspects were arrested in Standerton CBD yesterday for possession of substances believed to be drugs.
Standerton police were conducting normal stop and search operations when three suspects aged between 25 and 31 were found with the substances in different areas of the town.
A total of 23 sachets of substance believed to be Nyaope and ten sachets of substance believed to be Crystal Meth were seized for further investigation.
All three suspects are expected to appear before the Standerton Magistrate’s Court today.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela made a call to community members to work hand in gloves with the police to curb drug circulation in the society. “Drug peddlers are destroying our communities hence we call on members of the public to partner with law enforcement agencies in the fight against drug trafficking,” said the General.
