High-density weekend operations in the Western Cape yielded positive results when police members confiscated drugs and firearms.
Members of Operation Restore, deployed in the Mitchell’s Plain policing precinct, arrested a 40-year-old male when he was caught with heroin on Sunday evening, 29 October 2023. The members searched a premises in Rowenzori Street, Tafelsig, Mitchell’s Plain and confiscated 122 units of heroin in the house.
The suspect will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ court once he has been charged.
In an unrelated intervention members of Operation Restore executed a search of a premises in Marcus Gavi area and confiscated a large quantity of dagga, four firearms with ammunition in the house. The suspect fled the scene when police members approached the house. The circumstances are under investigation and the suspect is being sought.
